Texans Insider Aaron Wilson Says Stroud is Expected to Return to Practice

KPRC reporter Aaron Wilson joins Chris Gordy on Next Up to give the latest update on Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud in concussion protocol. Wilson reports that Stroud is expected to return to practice Wednesday, saying "it's a really positive development."

Safety Jimmie Ward, who left Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns with a quad injury, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday; however, the Texans claimed safety Kareem Jackson off waivers after he was released by the Denver Broncos. Jackson returns to Houston after being drafted by the Texans in 2010 and going on to play nine seasons with the franchise. "It's a full circle moment," Wilson said.

Wilson also gives an update on the Texans injury list. Defensive end Jonathan Greenard has been out with an ankle injury, and "there's some concern about his availability this week," Wilson said. Wilson concludes that linebacker Blake Cashman, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, is the closest to returning to the playing field.
