Altuve Reaches 100 Career Homers as Astros Battle Back to Beat Yankees

Jose Altuve hit a solo homerun in the bottom half of the third to register his 100th career homerun. That homer and a clutch two-run double by George Springer in the 8th helped the Astros beat the Yankees 6-3, Tuesday night.

Houston has now won five in a row with the last three being comeback wins.

Michael Brantley tied it at 3 with an RBI double in the 7th which lead to Springer’s double in the 8th to make it 5-3. Altuve then hit a sac fly to score Tony Kemp who reached on a walk later in the 8th.

Gerrit Cole three 7.0 IP allowing only four hits. He gave up three runs and was pulled when the game was tied. Cole is still searching for his first win of the season. Héctor Rondón replaced Cole and pitched a perfect 8th inning. Roberto Osuna would come on to close it out in the 9th to record the save.

The series finale is tonight with Collin McHugh taking the hill for the Astros. First pitch is 6:40pm.
