Jose Altuve is on a power surge. He hit another massive home run onto the tracks last night in a 10-4 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Altuve has hit nine homers in the month of April with seven days left until we reach May. The three run bomb last night helped the Astros stop a three game losing streak.
Wade Miley shook off a rough first inning to battle through 6.0 IP. Miley gave up three in the first but then held the Twins scoreless. His final line: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K and 1 HR. Hector Rondon came in to replace Miley and received the win. Ryan Pressly continued his dominance out of the bullpen. He tossed an inning and struck out one. Pressly has now been scoreless in his last 30 games (27.2 IP), the longest scoreless appearance streak in franchise history.
Offensively, Altuve had three RBI. Alex Bregman was 1-3 with three RBI and George Springer went 2-3 with two RBI. Carlos Correa, Josh Reddick and Tyler White all had two hits each. The Astros had 12 hits in the win.
Justin Verlander will take the mound tonight in the rubber match and series finale against Minnesota. First pitch is at 7:10pm.
