MONDAY AM: Office buildings and gyms re-open; Abbott speaks this afternoon

The re-opening of the Texas economy continues today, and while life isn't back to normal yet, it's on the path to normal.

Office buildings are opening back up today to 25% capacity. Gyms will have that same limitation, plus other restrictions. Henry Walker owns Legacy Barbell in Montgomery County and says businesses like his will benefit from anything they are allowed to do.

"The small, private facilities will see a big uptick, because people are not going tow ant to interrupt their day to day life, which is what the other big box gyms are going to force them to do," Walker explained.

While the smaller, private gyms will be opening, that isn't necessarily the case for the national chains. LA Fitness has not yet announced when it will re-open. Your best bet is to check with your gym to make sure when or if they are open. You can read more about restrictions on gyms and office buildings HERE. You can listen to more of what Walker told KTRH below on the Gen X Fit podcast.

Governor Greg Abbott is expected to announce more openings at 2 o'clock this afternoon. There is speculation he could make some move on bars, as owners are unhappy and frustrated they have not been allowed to return.
