The Texans are involved in active trade discussions regarding Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., per league sources.

The price tag being discussed for compensation for the former first-round draft pick: a second-round draft pick in 2028, which would be the Texans' preference, or 2027, which Arizona wants in exchange for the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, per sources.

This is regarded as a fluid situation, in terms of compensation details, including potential additional picks, as no deal has been finalized and the Cardinals will continue to shop Harrison. Where Harrison isn't going is clearer, though. The Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs are not trading for Harrison, per sources.

The Las Vegas Raiders are another potential destination for Harrison, who has been informed he will be traded and will be inactive Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

A potential reunion with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, his former Ohio State teammate, is something that Harrison would welcome, per sources.

In the past, Stroud, a former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, has praised Harrison when he was heading to the NFL.

"I would love to play with him again," Stroud said two years ago before Harrison was drafted in the first round by the Cardinals. "I know probably won't get that opportunity for a while. I'm super proud of him. Whoever's up there, be smart. Don't be dumb, don't think too hard."

Harrison has had a limited role and productivity for the Cardinals this season. He has five catches for 85 yards on 13

targets while playing 74 percent of the offensive snaps.

In the past, Harrison was a productive player. He caught 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie and 41 catches or 608 yards and four touchdowns last season when he was dealing with appendicitis and a foot issue. There is some rough tape, though, this year where Harrison, a physical player at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, looks sluggish on his blocking assignments and disinterested in selling routes when the football isn't going his way.

The 0-4- Texans have been looking for a bigger wide receiver to work in tandem with Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins ever since losing 6-foot-4 wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. They traded with the New England Patriots for wide receiver Kayshon Boutte in exchange for safety Jaylen Reed and a fifth-round draft pick.

The Texans are extremely reliant on Collins, who has 14 catches for 193 yards and three touchdowns on 18 targets in two games this season after missing two games with a strained hamstring.

Harrison caught only one pass in the first two games of the season. He ranks fifth on the Cardinals in targeted plays, behind tight end Trey McBride, wide receivers Michael Wilson and Kendrick Bourne and rookie running back Jeremiyah Love. Harrison has 1,578 career yards and 13 touchdowns.

Harrison recently hired Athletes First agents Tory Dandy and Todd France to represent him and assist him in facilitating a trade.

From a financial standpoint, absorbing Harrison's contract isn't bad. He's due $4 million in 2026 and $5.62 million in 2027. The fifth-year option deadline for him looms in the spring.

Harrison recently addressed the trade discussions involving him.

"Truthfully, I pay it no mind," Harrison told Arizona reporters. "I'm only focused on Detroit and helping the Cardinals win football games, at the moment. Any rumors you're talking about, I'm not really worried about them."
