The Houston Astros used a dominant pitching performance from starter Framber Valdez, who pitched seven innings allowing four hits, with two runs, both of them unearned, to go with nine strikeouts, on 101 pitches on Thursday night, as the Astros won it 3-2.
The Astros broke onto the scoreboard in the 3rd inning with a three-run homerun from Alex Bregman. The Yankees answered in the 4th with an RBI groundout from Anthony Rizzo, and a Gleyber Torres infield single that scored a run to make it 3-2 Houston.
