After dropping Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night, your Houston Astros bounced back in a big way on Saturday behind a dominant Framber Valdez. The Astros put together a 3-run 1st inning with three consecutive doubles to start the game off Zach Wheeler, coming from Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena and Yordan Alvarez. Alvarez would score on a ground ball from Yuli Gurriel that resulted in a throwing error, and Houston grabbed a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, with Yordan Alvarez on for Alex Bregman, Bregman crushed a two-run homerun to make it 5-0 Astros.
The Phillies added a run in the 7th on a sac fly from Jean Segura off Rafael Montero. They added a second run in the 9th on a fielding error by Gurriel that scored Bohm.
Framber Valdez picked up the win pitching 6 1/3 innings of one run off four hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. The Astros won it 5-2. The series will shift to Philadelphia starting Monday night. Hear all of the action on SportsTalk790!
