Both Houston schools got big boosts to their rosters on Tuesday night as UH added Texas Tech transfer QB Donovan Smith, while Rice added former five-star QB JT Daniels.
Smith spent the last two seasons in Lubbock where he threw for 2,686 yards and 19 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Smith led Tech to wins over UH and Texas last season.
Meanwhile, Daniels will play for his fourth program after stops at USC, Georgia, West Virginia and now Rice. Daniels threw for 2,100 yards and 13 touchdowns last season with wins over Baylor and Oklahoma.
