ESPN Ranks Top 100 MLB Players: Where Do Astros Players Rank?

ESPN put together a list ranking the Top 100 baseball players, and many of the usual candidates are on the list.

Shohei Ohtani comes in at #1, with Mike Trout at #2, Aaron Judge #3, Manny Machado #4, & Freddie Freeman at #5.

But where do your Houston Astros players rank?

The first Astros player on their list checks in at #15 overall, slugger Yordan Alvarez.

Other Astros to make the list:

Kyle Tucker ranks #38 overall, Alex Bregman at #39, Framber Valdez at #42, Jeremy Peña at #52, Jose Altuve at #67, Cristian Javier at #70, & Jose Abreu at #89.

On first glance, to have only one Astros player ranked in the Top 30 of MLB players seems to be off. While Altuve is out due to injury, 67 seems very low for the former MVP who is a lifetime .300 hitter.

And while I get there are a lot of MLB players, how about a little love for America's favorite closer, Ryan Pressly?? What about Luis Garcia who won 15 games a year ago? You could also make a case for Rafael Montero who had a 2.37 ERA last season in 71 games. And when they're healthy, Michael Brantley and Lance McCullers could certainly make a push for this list.

Notable former Astros to make the list include: Gerrit Cole #19, Justin Verlander #22, Carlos Correa #24, George Springer #63, Joe Musgrove #78, and Teoscar Hernandez #99.
