The Texans have suffered through two awful seasons these past two years following the aftermath of the Deshaun Watson debacle. We had to go through several games of Tyrod Taylor, before being subjected to a year plus of Davis Mills, with a little Kyle Allen mixed in. It's been bad. So surely they wouldn't pass on the chance to draft their next franchise QB with the #2 overall pick in this year's draft, right?
Well according to one mock draft, the Texans will do just that. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein's latest mock has the Texans selecting Texas Tech defensive end Tyree Wilson 2nd overall, passing on both CJ Stroud and Will Anderson (in this mock, QB Bryce Young goes 1st overall to Carolina). He then has the Texans trading up from 12th overall to 7th to select Kentucky QB Will Levis.
Most mock drafts have the Panthers taking Stroud 1st overall, and the Texans taking Bryce Young 2nd overall, so needless to say, this mock is certainly one of the more bold ones you will find.
