Here were some takeaways from our first glimpse of Houston Texans 2023 OTAs:
- The Texans are in no hurry to crown a starting QB. They’re going to let rookie CJ Stroud battle it out with Davis Mills into the fall.
- Several key players were not present, with several recovering from injuries like Kenyon Green coming back from knee surgery and John Metchie dealing with a hamstring issue.
- DeMeco Ryans singled out Robert Woods and Case Keenum as key veterans that provide another coach on the field.
- The Texans running back room looks to be in great shape with Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary.
- Rookie WR Tank Dell showed solid hands and some explosive speed, will be interesting to watch his development.
