A New York Post story came out over the weekend on Justin Verlander, revealing a source said that Verlander was a "diva" in the Mets clubhouse and complained about their analytics department not being up to par with what he had with the Astros. The report said his attitude caused guys like Max Scherzer to grumble and felt disconnected from him.
In Verlander's statement he tweeted out on Monday, he said "I'm sorry to hear that a [Mets] staff member took offense to constructive criticism on how we could improve."
Seems like the Mets analytics department is more of an issue here than Verlander's attitude. Sorry Verlander was so used to winning that his attitude didn’t sit well with perennial losers like the Mets...
