On a night where it looked like the Astros pitching staff was going to combine for a no-hitter, A's Ryan Noda hit a groundball single off Ryan Pressly with one out in the ninth inning as Oakland broke up the no-no.
Hunter Brown pitched five shutout innings, followed by Rafael Montero, Hector Neris and Bryan Abreu, before giving way to Pressly.
More importantly, the Astros bats came alive after being stifled in their first two losses of the series, with Yordan Alvarez, Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker all hitting homeruns.
The Astros 6-2, and maintained their one-game lead in the AL West, as both the Mariners and Rangers also won on Wednesday. The Astros will have an off day on Thursday before they begin a series in Kansas City on Friday. Listen to all the action on your home for Astros baseball, SportsTalk790!
