After falling to the Mariners in Seattle on Tuesday night 6-2, your Houston Astros really need a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Astros trail the Texas Rangers for the AL West lead by 2.5 games, and are only 1/2 game up on Seattle Mariners. With a loss tonight, the Mariners would pass up the Astros for the final wild card spot. The Astros would have three games remaining at the Arizona Diamondbacks, while the Mariners would have four games remaining vs the Texas Rangers.
The Rays lead the way with the top wild card spot in the AL, while the Blue Jays hold the second wild card spot, up 1.5 games on Houston. It seems very likely that third wild card spot will come down to the Astros or Mariners.
