As the MLB season winds down, the Houston Astros control their own destiny as the play the Diamondbacks in Arizona this weekend. Bottom line - win this series, and you're in the postseason. Things get a little sticky if they lose the series or get swept, as they would need some help.
There are 20 different scenarios, 15 of them lead to the Astros getting into the postseason. There are also two scenarios where the Astros could still win the AL West, but that would require an Astros sweep, and a Mariners series win over the Rangers.
Things also get weird if the Toronto Blue Jays lose several more of their games as they could fall out of the second Wild Card spot.
But for the Astros, they are in a good spot to make the postseason as long as they take care of their business.
