Report: Dusty Baker Managed His Final Game with the Astros

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Dusty Baker has expressed to multiple sources that 2023 was his final season as Houston Astros Manager. It was a heck of a run for Baker, as he helped lead the Houston Astros to deep playoff runs, including his first World Series Championship in 2022.

The Athletic reports their sources say that Baker wants to remain in the game in some capacity. After the Astros' Game 7 ALCS loss, Dusty Baker said he would take some time to think about his future.

Where will the Astros go next? The obvious candidate would be their bench coach Joe Espada, who has interviewed for several jobs in recent years, and has served on the Astros staff since AJ Hinch's tenure. And there could be some names from the Atlanta Braves organization that GM Dana Brown may want to look at from his time there.
