Multiple reports say the Seattle Mariners have signed free agent right-hander Ryne Stanek to a major league deal. It is reportedly a one -year deal. The 32-year old was a key piece of the Houston Astros bullpen the past few seasons, but saw his ERA balloon in 2023. After posting a career-best 1.15 ERA in 59 games in 2022 with Houston, Stanek posted a 4.09 ERA in 2023 with the Astros.
Stanek joins a Seattle bullpen that features Matt Brash, Gregory Santos, Trent Thornton, Jackson Kowar and Andre Munoz. Houston will the Mariners for the first time on May 3rd when they visit Minute Maid Park.
