Goodbye, Big 12. Hello, SEC. Texas and Oklahoma officially joined the Southeastern Conference on Monday as the calendar turned to July.
Texas held a huge on-campus celebration on Sunday to celebrate the monumental move. The SEC Network broadcast live all afternoon into the evening, on a day that felt more like a gameday than a regular Sunday.
"This is a day we have been building toward for years,” Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte said. “Our fans our really excited about this. You can tell by the turnout. It just means more to the fans in the Southeast Conference and their schools.”
