Houston, TX – – The Houston Astros will open the 2026 regular season on Thursday, March 26 with an Opening Day matchup against their AL West rival the Los Angeles Angels. This will be the second time in franchise history that the Astros will open the season against the Angels and the first time doing so at home. The Astros opened the 2022 season with a 3-1 victory over the Angels on the road at Angel Stadium. It is one of only two divisional matchups set for Opening Day 2026.
The opening homestand in total is a seven-game set, featuring a four-game series with the Angels (March 26-29) and a three-game series vs. their AL foe the Boston Red Sox (March 30-April 1). The Astros first road trip of the season is a 10-gamer, which will take the club to the Athletics (April 3-5), the Rockies (April 6-8) and finish off with four games vs. the Mariners (April 10-13).
The 2026 season is the fourth year with the schedule format of playing every other Major League club in a single season. The Astros will host 21 different teams at Daikin Park in 2025, which includes eight National League clubs and all 14 other American League clubs.
The Astros home schedule features huge weekends against the Yankees (April 24-26), Brewers (May 29-31), Guardians (June 19-21), Rays (July 3-5), Orioles (July 17-19), Mariners (Aug. 14-16), Diamondbacks (Sept. 4-6), Braves (Sept. 18-20), two against the Athletics (June 5-7, Aug. 21-23) and two against the Rangers (May 15-17, July 31-Aug. 2).
The Astros will also host weekday games against the Red Sox (March 30-April 1), Dodgers (May 4-6), Mariners (May 11-14), Tigers (June 15-17), Twins (June 29-July 1), Blue Jays (Aug. 3-5), and Royals (Sept. 15-17), among others.
The Astros will host holiday matchups next season on Father’s Day (June 21 vs. CLE) and the Fourth of July (July 4 vs. TB). They will play on the road for Mother’s Day (May 10 at CIN) and for Memorial Day (May 25 at TEX).
ROAD GAMES
The Astros will travel to Arlington to play the Rangers twice in 2025, for a four-game series from May 25-28 and a three-game series from July 10-12. They will also play the rival Yankees in New York from Aug. 25-27, followed by three with the Mets in Queens from Aug. 28-30. The Astros will conclude their season with a six-game road trip, facing the Mariners in Seattle for two, Sept. 22-23, followed by four at the Athletics, Sept. 24-27.
