Astros Fall to Rays 4-1, Game 5 Thursday Night

Justin Verlander took the mound on short rest Tuesday night but lasted just 3.2 innings as the Astros fell to the Rays, 4-1. With the win, the Rays force a game five which will be Thursday night from Minute Maid Park.

Verlander gave up four earned runs on seven hits and three walks. JV gave up three of the four runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. He struck out five but was issued the loss. The Astros lone run came in the 8th inning on a solo home run from Robinson Chirinos. Houston had an opportunity in the 9th with two runners on and one out but failed to scratch across any runs.
