HOUSTON – The Texans’ overhaul of their offensive line includes a new addition.
The defending AFC South champions are signing former Seattle Seahawks offensive guard Laken Tomlinson to a one-year deal with a maximum value of $5 million and a base value of $4.25 million, per a league source.
Tomlinson, 33, should add stability to an offensive line that has now parted ways with Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil in a trade to the Washington Commanders, trading guard Kenyon Green to the Philadelphia Eagles for safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and releasing guard Shaq Mason.
Tomlinson is a former Detroit Lions first-round draft pick from Duke.
He was sent to the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth-round draft pick before signing signing a three-year, $18 million extension with the 49ers.
He then played for the New York Jets before signing with Seattle on a one-year, $1.2 million deal.
He started every game last season for the Seahawks.
