The Texans are re-signing veteran former Chicago Bears defensive end Dominique Robinson to the same one-year, $4 million maximum value contract he signed in free agency after releasing him Sunday, per a league source.
Robinson (6-foot-5, 275 pounds), a former Bears fifth-round draft pick from Miami of Ohio, has recorded 62 career tackles with 3 1/2 sacks and three pass deflections. In 12 games last season for a playoff squad, he had 1 1/2 sacks, 19 tackles and three quarterback hits and three tackles for losses. Robinson has recovered from a calf injury that sidelined him for the majority of the preseason.
The Texans are also re-signing veteran tight end Brevin Jordan to the 53-man roster, per a league source.
Jordan was released in a procedural roster move. He has been sidelined since the start of training camp with a knee issue. Jordan missed last season with a torn patellar tendon and a torn anterior cruciate ligament two seasons ago. Jordan is a former fifth-round draft pick from the University of Miami.
The Texans are re-signing rookie wide receiver Lewis Bond to the practice squad, per a league source.
A sixth-round draft pick from Boston College where he played for former Texans coach Bill O'Brien, Bond excelled during the preseason with the exception of a few special teams lapses. As a receiver, he delivered consistent performances.
Bond emerged as a popular player because of his hands and ability to create separation.
The Texans, however, kept just five receivers on the active roster.

Veteran running back Jawhar Jordan is a member of the practice squad. Jordan, a former sixth-round draft pick from Louisville, rushed for 101 yards on 17 carries last season in his NFL debut against the Arizona Caridnals. He had a 50-yard run, the longest for the Texans last season, and the longest run in franchise history for a player in their first NFL game.
The Texans are re-signing undrafted rookie running back Noah Whittington to the practice squad, per a league source.
Whittington had a big game against the Los Angeles Chargers before injuring his ankle against the Las Vegas Raiders. He was in line to earn a 53-man roster spot before the injury. He has made a recovery and is expected to return to practice.
The Texans brought back nickel Alijah Huzzie to the practice squad, per a source. Huzzie intercepted one pass last season as an undrafted rookie. He had an interception in the preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Former San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts All-Pro special-teams ace George Odum is joining the practice squad, per a source. He had 11 tackles and one interception in a preseason loss to the Carolina Panthers. He played for Texans coach DeMeco Ryans previously with the San Francisco 49ers and for special-teams coordinator Frank Ross with the Indianapolis Colts.
Former Texans sixth-round linebacker Jamal Hill, a converted safety from Oregon, is re-signing with the practice squad, per a league source. Hill has 4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash and forced a fumble last season.
The Texans are re-signing undrafted rookie defensive lineman Dominic Bailey to the practice squad, per a league source. He played collegiately at Tennessee.
The Texans are re-signing offensive tackle James Neal III, an undrafted rookie given the largest guaranteed money, $277,500, of any member of the undrafted rookie class, per a source.
The Texans are re-signing wide receiver Josh Kelly to the practice squad, per a source. He had four catches for 44 yards on seven targets in the preseason.
The Texans are signing former New Orleans Saints tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden to the practice squad, per a source.
Mitchell-Paden has four career catches for 36 yards on six targets in 17 career games.
Mitchell-Paden (6-foot-5, 257 pounds) has also played for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.
The Texans are signing former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley to the practice squad, per a league source.
Tinsley has eight career receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns. He has also played for the Washington Commanders and at Penn State.
Waived by the Texans, offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston joined the Miami Dolphins off waivers.
The Texans weren't awarded any players off waivers.
The Texans are regarded as unlikely to retain quarterback Brett Rypien on the practice squad, per a source.
