On Monday, former Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels joined ND & Greg in studio on In The Trenches to talk about his life after football. Also, Daniels addressed his recent Twitter comments regarding the Texans trading away quarterback Brock Osweiler.
"I was not trying to be disrespectful to anybody," said Daniels. "I get the fans' perspective from loving the brand, to loving the players. I halfway expect things to go crazy when you put something that maybe people don't want to see."
Daniels also addressed his thoughts specifically on the Osweiler move.
"You expect there to be so much research and effort and energy put in because of the investment these guys are making in players, especially contracts like (Brock's)," said Daniels. "Getting rid of the guy after one year, you're not giving him a chance because I know this offense is complicated. If you're learning English your whole life, and you've got to learn Japanese, maybe give me two years to learn Japanese so I can get a better feel for it."
Daniels called the Osweiler trade to Cleveland "shocking" to him, and said people need to be held accountable for those type of moves.
