Brad Peacock Dealing With Recurring Injury At Start Of Astros Camp

Brad Peacock was and might still be set for a chance to land the fifth spot in the Astros rotation, but he is once again dealing with a neck issue that might keep him from getting a shot at winning that spot.

Peacock was used as both a starter and reliever last season for the Astros, something he has done most of his big league career. Appearing in 23 games last season, making 15 starts, Peacock went 7-6 with a 4.12 ERA across his 91.2 innings pitched. In his 15 starts last year, he went 5-6 with a 4.24 ERA. As a reliever he was 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA in his 8 appearances out of the bullpen. For his career as a starter, Peacock has made 83 at the big league level and sports a record of 26-24 with 4.04 ERA. His best stretch of his career as a starter came in the 2017 season when he made 22 of them, going 10-2 with 3.22 ERA, striking out 135 batters in his 111.2 innings pitched. He has made 95 appearances in his career as a reliever, sporting a record of 8-6 with a 3.81 ERA.
