The Astros would lose this game to the Cardinals by a final of 5-3, needing 13 innings that day, but it was still a special day for Andujar Cedeno.
Being called up from Triple-A earlier in the day, Cedeno got the start that night, playing shortstop and batting 7th in the lineup. He would go 4-5 at the plate in the loss, driving in two of the Astros three runs in the game, also drawing a walk that night.
He became the fourth player overall to hit for the cycle in a game in Astros franchise history. It was the fifth time overall that a player had done it for Houston, Cesar Cedeno accomplished the feat twice, the first two cycles ever hit in franchise history. It was the first time an Astros player had done it since 1977, when Bob Watson did it against the San Francisco Giants. Four players have accomplished the feat since Cedeno did it in 1992.
