Verlander is one of thirty five pitchers to throw multiple no-hitters in Major League Baseball history and he is one of just six pitchers to throw three or more. His first no-hitter came in 2007 against the Milwaukee Brewers and the second in 2011 against the Blue Jays.
The 2-0 win that day for the club pushed their record to 89-49 on the season and their AL West lead moved to 9.5 games over the A's.
