The mayor of our city, Sylvester Turner, has decided that in an effort to get local businesses to adhere to current regulations on how many people local businesses can allow in their establishments, creating a public wall of shame. He tweeted out his first wall of shame yesterday.
I am not here to make this about politics or an argument about what he is doing. I am here to have fun with this and make it Houston sports related. Yesterday, our friend, Ben DuBose, who helps us here at 790 with great coverage of the Rockets, came up with this idea and I am here for it.
So let's do this thing, here are my top five candidates for the Wall of Houston Sports Shame.
1. Mike Fiers
There is no explanation needed for this one. I still find myself blown away that a guy on a team that got him a ring, broke the number one rule of a professional team, talking about what goes on inside the games or locker rooms. He sure did enjoy getting that ring though.
See you soon, Mike. Enjoy facing the Astros lineup this year.
2. Brock Osweiler
Remember that brief second that we all wanted to believe that this guy was going to come in and be that guy for the Texans? Yeah, that was dumb.
And never forget his HEB commercials.
3. Scottie Pippen
Remember this guy? Yes, of course you do. His one year in Houston was not exactly...good.
4. Ed Reed
HE IS GOING TO HELP THE TEXANS GET PAST THE PATRIOTS YOU GUYS!!! HE KNOWS HOW TO BEAT THEM!!! Yeah, that did not go well.
5. Bud Adams
He will be number two on most lists, but I put him down here because I have no memory of the Oilers. They were out of here before I really have memories of watching football. But he has to be on this wall, he picked up and moved the team, while taking the team name and records with him to Tennessee.
