According to Above The Line and Golf Digest, there's a movie in the works about the life of colorful, hard-drinking pro golfer John Daly, and actor Jonah Hill is set to produce and star in the film.
The ABL article says the movie is expected to examine Daly's excesses, scandals, and athletic achievements, and tell the story of how he's come to be considered by many to be the "Bad Boy of Golf."
Daly is currently ranked 65th on the PGA Champions Tour and recently made headlines with the video below of him drunkenly singing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" at karaoke night in an Austin bar.
You know Jonah Hill from Superbad, 21 Jump Street, and Moneyball. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor Oscars for both 2011's Moneyball and 2013's The Wolf of Wall Street. Hill made is directorial debut in 2018 with the critically acclaimed Mid90s.
Hotel Mumbai writer-director Anthony Maras is attached to direct the as yet untitled John Daly biopic. Producers are currently looking to hire a screenwriter, so no word on when the film will go into production or a release date.
