Verlander Shoves, Offense Stays Cold in 2-1 Loss to Mariners

Justin Verlander was vintage Verlander Wednesday night in Seattle, but it wasn't enough as the Astros fell in extra innings, 2-1.

Verlander tossed seven strong innings, giving up just one run on three hits. He struck out nine and walked one.

Offensively, the Astros struck out 14 times which is a season high. The lone run was courtesy of an RBI from Jake Meyers.

The series concludes this afternoon with a 3:10pm first pitch. The On-Deck Show starts at 2pm.
