Can The Rockets Be Considered A Threat In The West?

Taking on Steph Curry and the Warriors last night the Rockets squeeze away with a huge victory over Golden State in the final seconds of the game resulting in final score of 91-90. Aiming to make it to the NBA Cup Championship the Rockets are one step closer as they get ready to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Cup semifinals in a Saturday evening tip-off. Losing an astounding fifteen consecutive games to the Warriors, the Rockets snap their long losing slump and clinch their spot in the same process now making them the number two seed in the West right behind Oklahoma City. As the NBA Cup tournament rolls on and the season with it, many begin to rally around the young Rockets team as they show resiliency and fight grinding out wins against veteran players and teams that have had strong tenures in the league. Looking currently to the Cup Playoffs and overviewing the season, could the Houston Rockets be considered an actual threat in the Western conference this year?
