On a night that was supposed to be a bullpen game for the Astros, Jose Urquidy was outstanding in getting the start, going five innings allowing two hits, no runs, no walks with four strikeouts. And he got help offensively, as the Astros struck for two runs in the 1st inning off RBI singles from Bregman and Gurriel.
Robinson Chirinos added a two-run homerun in the 4th to make it 4-0 Astros. Josh James worked into trouble in the 6th, and Will Harris put out the fire after just one run scored, and Houston led it 4-1.
But the game busted wide open in the top of the 7th as Alex Bregman hit a grand slam to make it 8-1.
Houston evens the series 2-2, with Game 5 coming up Sunday night as Max Scherzer will face Gerrit Cole. Hear all of the action on your home for Astros baseball, SportsTalk790, with pregame coverage from D.C. starting at 5p CT.
