So You Want Bill O'Brien Gone? Top 10 Tuesday: 10 Candidate Types For HC

10 - The NFL Version Of Jeff Van Gundy

Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher & Herm Edwards

Dungy & Cowher come up every year but these guys are absolutely not going to coach again. But they will be linked to a job every year.

Herm Edwards is a bit different, I think he is actually having some success at ASU and if the Texans go this route than he would be the best choice of the 3.

9 - Kill Me It's Another Belichick Disciple

Josh McDaniels & Steve Belichick

I want absolutely NOTHING to do with the Bill Belichick tree. It's full of failures, none of them have success. O'Brien is by far the most successful coach so why would the Texans try this again?

8 - Let's Go Crazy College Hire

Mike Leach & Lincoln Riley

Leach & Riley run incredible offenses at the Collegiate level. Kliff Kingsbury has had pretty good success so far with the Cardinals and going after a high profile college offensive mind could elevate Watson's play to greater heights. Riley probably won't leave OU & Leach would be awesome but I doubt NFL teams actually would want to bring him in

7 - In House Option

Anthony Weaver

He's the only option in house. When he speaks, he captivates me. Vrabel had a pretty bad year for the Texans as the DC but the Titans clearly rally around him and Weaver could do the same for this team.

6 - Hot Names But What Do We Really Know?

Byron Leftwich & Greg Roman

Leftwich has been flying up the ranks as a coach but is he ready to make the next step? Not yet, but I think he's also being groomed to be the next Head Coach of the Buccaneers. Greg Roman has taken Lamar to the next level as well but his he HC material or just a good OC?

5 - Coach Who Wins Games But Ends In Flames

Jim Harbaugh

Took the 49ers to the Super Bowl but by the time he was done in San Fran, it was a total disaster. Harbaugh can take this team to new heights but it feels like his tenure would all but guaranteed end in a dumpster fire.

4 - Soon To Be Fired But Good

Doug Peterson

Are the Eagles problems really his fault? He won a Super Bowl with Nick Foles & Carson Wentz seems to be regressing to a replaceable QB instead of the 2017 MVP he almost was. This team has a serious amount of injuries and if the Eagles move on, he's well worth the investment.

3 - Reunion for DW4

Dabo Sweeney

Look, Dabo is an unknown. We saw Saban fail in the NFL, so why would Dabo succeed? But your franchise QB would absolutely love the move. I think the biggest concern is if the rah rah style works in the NFL.

2 - Best Offensive Candidate

Eric Bieniemy

Well everyone wants Bieniemy, it will be a race to hire him. But Andy Reid calls the plays and Patrick Mahomes is the QB. So would it actually translate for him? Matt Nagy was the same thing for the Chiefs before he took the Bears job and it's been pretty hit or miss so far with him calling the shots in Chicago.

1 - Best Defensive Candidate

Robert Saleh

Saleh has made the 49ers defense elite. He's got a lot of help with the players on hand but Saleh is the guy I want. The Texans have tried two offensive coaches in a row, lets change it up and bring in a guy that focuses on defense first. If you hire a GM that can bring in good OC's then why does the coach need to be offensive minded?
