The White House announced earlier tonight that First Lady Jill Biden and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff would visit Minute Maid Park on Tuesday to tour the club’s vaccination event. The two will also stay for the Astros and Orioles game that night and make appearance on the club’s English television and radio broadcasts.
The Houston Astros, in partnership with Houston Methodist, will once again host free COVID-19 vaccinations at Minute Maid Parkon Tuesday, June 29 from 5-8 p.m.in the Union Station Lobby. No appointment is required and participants can get vaccinated with or without a ticket to that night’s game.
Participants will receive two free tickets to either theJune 29game vs. the Baltimore Orioles or to one of the upcoming games vs. the Oakland Athletics (July 6-8). Additionally, participants will also receive an Astros giveaway item.
This will represent the third vaccination event the Astros have supported in efforts to help the community receive vaccinations easily and efficiently. The Astros have joined the “MLB Vaccinate At The Plate” program in which all 30 MLB clubs will host at least one event.
BASIC INFORMATION
Eligibility: People 12 years of age and older. Those under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian so that they can sign a release.
Vaccine: First- or Second-dose Pfizer Vaccine.
No Appointments: Walk-ins only.
Miscellaneous: Ticketed and Non-ticketed fans are welcome to participate. Ticketed fans may enter through the Atrium. Non-ticketed fans can enter Union Station from Crawford St. Fans who get vaccinated will get the choice of two tickets to the gameon June 29or to one of the three Athletics games (July 6-8) as well as a 2017 World Series Champs Replica Ring. Vaccines are free and insurance is not required.
