F1 Schedule released for 2023

The time has finally come and the schedule for the 2023 season has been released. We will see a whopping 24 races, the most in F1 History. There will be plenty of new and old come next year.

Heaven Or Las Vegas?: It was announced earlier this year that F1 would be adding a new race to the schedule which would take place in the legendary Las Vegas Nevada. This isn't the first time the sport has come to the diamond in the desert as they raced around the Ceasers Palace Hotel in 1981 and 1982 (Which was an absolute flop). The layout of this track will be a bit different as they run around the world-famous Las Vegas strip for a Saturday night race in November. With the race being in the winter, this will solve the issue of the extreme heat that comes in the city. One major issue that the FIA will have to deal with is the race being on the main roads of Vegas and will be challenging for commuters to get where they need to go. YouTubers Donut Media made a really great video explaining the drawbacks to this race, It's worth a watch. Aside from all that, this will be a huge spectacle under the Vegas lights, we are sure to see many celebrities at the race.

Miami's Return: After this year's race was a big success, it was announced that the Miami Grand Prix will return in 2023. The racing was okay even though it was difficult to pass. This is another race that will certainly be a huge draw considering it's in Miami.

F1 in Saudi Arabia: As we all know, money talks. There isn't a better example than the street circuit at Jeddah. As we saw this year, this track is extremely dangerous. We saw Mick Schumacher crash extremely hard in qualifying, and many drivers have talked about how they don't believe this racetrack is safe. Not to mention Saudi Arabia's tyrannical government and the bombing that took place near the track. This track provides a lot of great racing, there is no question about that but at what point do we realize that driver safety is more important than money? Clearly not till 2025 as the track has a contract to remain here until then.

French Grand Prix gets the Axe: We knew a decision was coming and a track was going to get cut with all the new races, unfortunately that race is the French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Ricard. This comes as a bit of a surprise as the racing there was getting much better but it wasn't enough to save the race. from returning. There is a chance that it could come back in 2024 and 2026 on a rotating basis.

Monaco survives: By far this is the most famous racetrack on the F1 Schedule. While the racing is pretty bad and there aren't a lot of overtaking zones, this is easily the toughest track on the schedule, and losing it would be absolutely tragic. As much as everyone in F1 wants this track to change the layout or their stupid rules including the Monaco camera crew, getting this race back was essential. It will remain on the F1 schedule till 2025.

F1 at Spa Remains: There was a lot of doubt surrounding another legendary track in Belgium but nonetheless, it will be back for 2023. The race comes with some caveats though as the race clashes with the legendary 24 hours of Spa meaning the legendary sports car race will be moved. The future beyond 2023 remains uncertain for the legendary track but for now, it's safe.
