Astros Beat the Rangers 4-1 in Season Opener

The Houston Astros picked up right where they left off from the 2017 season that saw them win the World Series. Houston beat the Rangers in their season opener in Arlington on Thursday 4-1, behind a dominant pitching performance from Justin Verlander who pitched six shutout innings allowing just four hits with five strikeouts.

George Springer put the Astros on the board first with a leadoff homerun, marking the second straight year he led off the season with a solo shot. Altuve added a run on a sac fly, Jake Marisnick hit a solo homerun of his own, and Carlos Correa had an RBI double.
