Astros Explode in Extras to Beat the Rockies, 8-2

Tony Kemp drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI single that was a part of a six run 10th inning for the Astros. The offense pounded out seven hits in the lone extra inning to earn a road victory against the Colorado Rockies, 8-2.

Alex Bregman hit his 21st home run of the season in the 1st inning to put the Astros up 2-0 but that would be the only runs scored until the 10th inning. Gerrit Cole was on point and held the Rockies scoreless until surrendering the lead in the bottom of the 7th inning. Cole had only given up two hits going into the 7th for a final line of: 6.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, and 9 K. Collin McHugh, Joe Smith, Hector Rondon and Brad Peacock combine to not allow a hit or run in 3.2 IP with Rondon getting the win.

Josh Reddick led off the 10th with a single to center that Charlie Blackmon allowed to bounce by him. Reddick advanced to third on the two base error. Max Stassi worked a one out walk which led to Kemp's go-ahead RBI single. Kyle Tucker followed with a two RBI triple as the flood gates opened. George Springer hit a two run shot to left as Yuli Gurriel added an RBI single.

Peacock pitched the bottom half of the 10th to secure the victory. The Astros are now 67-36 on the season.
