Astros Send Nine Players Down to Minor League Camp

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Houston Astros made another round of roster cuts this morning, sending a total of nine players down to minor league camp. The club optioned three players, OF Derek Fisher, LHP Cionel Pérez and OF Myles Straw, and reassigned six, OF Yordan Alvarez, LHP Kent Emanuel, IF Jack Mayfield, RHP Brendan McCurry, IF Nick Tanielu and IF Abraham Toro. The announcement was made by Astros President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

Following the moves, the Astros now have 30 players remaining in Major League camp, all of which are currently on the 40-man roster.
