Head Coach Willie Fritz Talks Cougars Nearly Upsetting Oklahoma, Preparing

University of Houston Cougars football head coach Willie Fritz joins The Matt Thomas Show following a near upset over the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners. Quarterback Donovan Smith completed 24 of 28 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Saturday's 16-12 defeat, rebounding well after the 27-7 home opener loss to the UNLV Rebels. "I definitely feel like we improved from Week 1 to Week 2," Fritz said. The Cougars will host the Rice Owls for the Bayou Bucket rivalry this weekend in an attempt to redeem themselves from last season's 43-41 loss in double overtime.
