Houston Astros outfielder Jason Heyward joins The Matt Thomas Show following Monday's 3-1 defeat against the San Diego Padres.
The beginning of the three-game series saw Heyward move to left field after spending multiple starts in right, filling in for the injured Kyle Tucker. "It's a new visual for me," Heyward said. However, the veteran outfielder wasted no time getting acclimated to the position, making an impressive throw in the bottom of the fifth to nab Luis Arraez at the plate.
Heyward signed with the Astros on August 29 after he was released from the Los Angeles Dodgers and has made an immediate impact in the lineup, recording two homers and six RBIs in 15 games with the Astros.
"There's a lot of world champions on this squad," Heyward said. "It's impressive to see how much these guys want to be in postseason baseball."
