Break Out the Brooms, Astros Sweep Yankees

For the first time ever, the Houston Astros swept the New York Yankees.

Jose Altuve hit two homers, Carlos Correa had three RBI and a homerun Wednesday night as the Astros beat the Yankees, 8-6.

Before the Yankees came to town, Houston swept the A’s followed by the sweep of New York. The back-to-back series sweeps is a mark that hasn’t been reached since 2004.

Collin McHugh tosses 6.0 IP, allowing just four hits, two runs and struck out nine. He improves to 2-1 on the season. Ryan Pressly earned his first save of the year throwing 1.1 IP with 3 K’s.

Offensively, Michael Brantley and Aledmys Diaz were both 2-4. Jake Marisnick went 3-3 with an RBI and Altuve had two RBI to go with his two homeruns.

The Astros improve to 8-5 on the season and will travel to Seattle to take on the Mariners beginning Friday night. Wade Miley will take the mound to open the series.
