For the second consecutive year, Alex Bregman and Javier Bracamonte represented the Houston Astros at the Home Run Derby during the All-Star Game. Bracamonte, the Astros bullpen catcher, threw to Bregman against Joc Pederson of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round.
Bregman hit a groove with just under 2:00 minutes left but it was not enough to overtake Pederson. The Astros third baseman lost by a score of 21-16.
Bregman will start at third base for the American League in tomorrow's All-Star game.
