Jose Urquidy dominated the Rangers Saturday night as the Astros beat the Rangers 6-1. With the win, Houston clinches the season Silver Boot Series.
Urquidy was recalled Friday night to start Saturday and delivered seven solid innings to earn his first win as a big leaguer. He struck out nine, issued no walks and gave up one earned run. Urquidy at one point sat down nine in a row and then later in the game, 11 in a row. The rookie retired 21 of the 23 hitters he faced.
Yuli Gurriel continued his hot streak by hitting a three run bomb in the 5th inning. That homer extended Gurriel's hitting streak to nine games. He has 13 home runs in the last 21 games and has homered in five straight at Minute Maid Park. Michael Brantley went 3-4 with an RBI and Tony Kemp also hit a home run in the win.
The Astros will look for the sweep tomorrow afternoon as Rogelio Armenteros will start for the first time of his career.
