Yordan Alvarez hit a home run to the triple deck of Minute Maid Park Monday night to help the Astros to a 15-0 win over the A's in game one of a four game series.
Alvarez and Robinson Chirinos hit two home runs each as Houston hit a total of seven homers with six of them coming in the first two innings. Chirinos had six RBIs to go along with his two home runs. The Astros scored 36 runs in consecutive games to set a franchise record. Alex Bregman and Alvarez went back-to-back and then an inning later, Jose Altuve and Michael Brantley hit back-to-back jacks.
Zack Greinke earned his 15th win of the season and 5th win with the Astros Monday night. Greinke threw six innings of scoreless ball while giving up two hits. He struck out five and didn't give up a walk in the victory.
Wade Miley will start in game two of the series against the A's Tuesday evening.
