REPORT: Astros Working to Bring Back Michael Brantley

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic has some interesting Astros nuggets in his MLB league news column. Here is what he says about the Astros and their hopes to bringing back Michael Brantley.

"The Astros might lose three regulars in free agency — George Springer, Michael Brantley and Josh Reddick. Ace right-hander Justin Verlander will miss the entire season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on Sept. 30. Verlander and two other starting pitchers, Zack Greinke and Lance McCullers Jr., are entering their walk years, as is shortstop Carlos Correa.

Yet, the Astros are not yet ready to retool, and for good reason. After finishing the regular season 29-31, their young pitching helped them come within one game of reaching the World Series. They already have re-signed first baseman Yuli Gurriel. They’re trying to work out a deal with Brantley, who is interested in returning."
