Astros Spring Training Schedule Adjusted To Eliminate Long Road Trips

As a safety precaution due to the pandemic, MLB has eliminated long road trips from the Grapefruit League schedule. As a result, the Astros currently will play a 24-game schedule, beginning with their season opener at home on Feb. 28 vs. the Miami Marlins. In addition to the Marlins, the Astros opponents this Spring will consist of the Washington Nationals, New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals. Prior to the adjustment, the Astros had a 30-game schedule, which included home and road games vs. the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins.

The first workout for Astros pitchers and catchers is scheduled for Feb. 18, while the first full squad workout is scheduled for Feb. 22. The 2021 season will be the Astros fifth at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches Spring Training complex in West Palm Beach, FL.
