Tensions over illegal substances with pitchers have been boiling all over in the MLB, and they spilled over last night as Phillies manager Joe Girardi had Max Scherzer checked three different times in a Phillies vs. Nationals game. Scherzer reacted by nearly completely undressing on the mound and then staring Girardi down as he headed to the dugout. Girardi didn't take too kindly to that and invited Scherzer over for a chat, but the best part was former Astros pitching coach Jim Hickey mocking Girardi with the "hold me back" pose.
