Randall Cobb on rejoining Packers after Texans trade: 'I can breathe again'

Randall Cobb sounded like a man content beyond his wildest dreams after reuniting with Aaron Rodgers and rejoining the Green Bay Packers via a trade from the Texans.

The veteran wide receiver is obviously overjoyed to be back in Green Bay.

"I can breathe again," Cobb said Thursday during a press conference at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. "I've seen the other side. I'm excited to be back here. I'm smiling. My teammates are saying I'm acting like I got out of prison. That's nothing against Houston. Green Bay is like a Fortune 500 company, and the Texans are a new franchise. They're a start-up that's figuring out their way.

Traded for a 2022 sixth-round draft pick and the Texans paying $3 million of his $8.25 million guaranteed salary, Cobb's return was a priority and a condition for Rodgers' return following an acrimonious offseason.

Cobb, who caught caught 38 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games on 48 targets before being placed on injured reserve with a toe injury, caught 470 passes for 5,524 yards and 41 touchdowns for the Packers during his original stint with them after being drafted in the second round out of Kentucky.

Cobb expressed confidence that the Texans are headed in the right direction with general manager Nick Caserio and coach David Culley.

"Green Bay is like a Fortune 500 company, and the Texans are a new franchise — they're a start-up that's figuring out their way," he said.

"I think the moves that they made when they brought Caserio and coach Culley, I think they're on a path," Cobb said. "I think they have a plan in place. I saw a lot of things changing over the past four months that I was there. .

"I saw all the different changes. I know they're doing right and trending in the right direction. They're still working through some things and I'm very excited for them as well."
