Texans veteran starting center Justin Britt was designated for return from injured reserve, launching his 21-day practice window to be activated. Britt been sidelined due to a lingering knee injury, a hyperextended knee and a bruise, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
A former Pro Bowl alternate with the Seattle Seahawks who missed last season with a torn ACL, Britt signed a one-year, $5 million contract this offseason and emerged as the leader of an overhauled offensive line.
The Texans signed center Jimmy Morrissey recently to their active roster off the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad and he has started the past two games.
