Texans' Chris Conley, Jordan Akins inactive against Titans

Two of the Texans' veteran contributors are inactive for Sunday's season finale against the Tennessee Titans.

Wide receiver Chris Conley is out due to a knee injury after not practicing all week. And Jordan Akins, who missed time this week with a non-COVID-19 illness, is also inactive.

Conley caught 2 passes this season for 323 yards and two touchdowns on 37 targets.

Akins, supplanted as the primary receiving tight end by rookie Brevin Jordan, is a pending unrestricted free agent who isn't expected to return.

Akins has caught 25 passes for 217 yards and no scores this season.

The Texans' other inactives for their final game of the season include defensive linemen Jaleel Johnson, Chris Smith, Derek Rivers and Ron'Dell Carter.

Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has a standing trade request and 22 civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct and 10 active criminal complaints with no charges filed, is inactive for the final time of the regular season. The Texans are expected to renew their efforts to trade the three-time Pro Bowl selection and NFL passing yardage leader from a year ago during the offseason when there's more clarity on his legal outlook. They nearly traded him to the Miami Dolphins, his preferred destination, at the NFL trading deadline.
