Forrest Whitley Says He's Healthy, Looking Forward to Season

Former first round pick Forrest Whitley has had plenty of ups and downs in his career, since the Houston Astros drafted him 17th overall in the 2016 MLB Draft.

Whitley has dealt with countless injuries, including a 50-game suspension for violating the MLB's drug prevention and treatment program in 2018, before needing Tommy John surgery that saw him miss the entire 2021 season.

In 2022, Whitley saw several starts up at the Triple-A level with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. On Thursday, Whitley spoke with the media and explained he was scratched from his last minor league start of the year after "feeling something in the back of his lat" during a bullpen.

Whitley said he is now completely healthy, and looking forward to a full healthy season. Will Whitley finally make an appearance for the Houston Astros in 2023?
